The Jordan Group
The Jordan group facilities are currently located on the 4rth
floor of the Searle Chemical Laboratory on the U of C campus. We
occupy two four person labs, a smaller two person lab, a dry box room,
a
lab designated for polymerization reactors an instrument room and a
computer room. We
also make frequent use of the Chemistry
Department's shared facilities.
Vacuum lines : used to manipulate air sensitive
compounds

Main group chemistry glovebox

Early transition metal glovebox

Late transition metal glovebox

Gas chromatograph - mass spectrometer : used for
analysis of mixtures of compounds

Infrared Spectrometer

Ultraviolet / Visible spectrometer

Differential Scanning Calorimeter : used for the
characterization of thermal properties of polymers

High Temperature Gel Permeation Chromatograph : used
for determination polymer molecular weights

Polymerization reactors : for various pressure
reaction
